Inscription: Body: Bamboo shadows, light breeze (竹影清风 zhu ying qing feng); Kiln mark on foot has poor calligraphy (as if someone was copying characters that they were not sure of): “Famous porcelain 8 of Jingdezhen, Jiangxi” (江西景德镇名瓷 Jiangxi Jingdezhen mingci 8) Place of Origin: Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province Condition: Good, some wear on the painting. The inscription: “Actively study and use Chairman Mao’s works” (活学活用毛主席著作 huoxue huoyong Mao zhuxi zhuzuo) in purple. The motifs are repeated on the reverse. The interior is embossed with bird and flower motif. They float above pine branches that represent the enduring quality of Mao’s thought. The original design had the two figures encircled in a pink line that culminates in a radiating star over their heads. Each scene is separated by a printed slogan: Read Chairman Mao’s books (读毛主席的书 du Mao zhuxi de shu); Listen to Chairman Mao’s words (听毛主席的话 ting Mao zhuxi de hua); In work follow Chairman Mao’s directives (照毛主席的指示办事 zhao Mao zhuxi de zhishi banshi). The motifs are printed between a double blue bowstring at rim and a blue line around stomach. Inscription: No kiln mark. Place of Origin: China Condition:  Very good. The glaze was underfired such that what is should be green is brown in some places, and the red halo is fully visible in only 1 of the 3 motifs. Acquisition Data: Geng Man 耿曼, Guwancheng. Price?
