Long stemmed lotus blossom held cradled in right arm to shoulder.  Long tunic-robe with long sleeves and underglaze blue 'textile' and floral patterns.  High top-knot with ribbon falling on shoulders.  Traces of red on surface; very scratched, dirty.  H. 24cm, max W 8.9 cm. Porcelain, molded and modeled.  Underglaze blue decoration on white ground. The emblem of Ho Hsien-ku is the lotus; she assists in house management.  One of a set of seven (9-13464-70)

Incised, and slip trailed underglaze decoration, glossy light-blue translucent glaze. Neck not glazed, and stained dark. Three large identical circular medallions, incised, on center of body: seal character (probably shou "longevity") surrounded by archaic cloud key-fret and dragon motif pattern. Slip trailed or incised band on shoulder of key-fret cloud pattern and archaic dragons. Wide band at base with 'mountain and cloud' pattern. Interior and recessed base glazed white. Stamped relief seal mark of Ch'ien Lung reign (1736-1795). Height 35.5 cm., maximum diameter 20.5 cm.

Molded relief geometric bands: narrow key-fret cloud pattern on outer side of flange; swastika-fret, red-brown and black curlwork on shoulder; black scalloped 'mountain' patter at base.  Pressed seal mark on base.  Glaze extends partially into neck.  Many small chips in surface.  H. 24.3 cm; 14.5cm.  Porcelaineous stoneware, wheel thrown.  Sculptured and molded relief decoration.  Crackled cream and blue glaze. Round stoneware vase with long neck.  Body of vase is blue with raised molded detail in black at base and shoulder.  Beige neck surrounded by bas relief black lizard.  Fret band at lip.  Red-brown fretwork band on shoulder. Glaze crackled.  Not finely made.  Good condition.  Black signature seal on bottom. January 1969 condition good.

Base shape resembles 2 pentagons joined at one side. High wide shoulder tapers to narrow, flared out foot. Narrow, long neck tapers out to flared mouth. White reserve chrysanthemums and buds on egg-yellow enamel ground with incised detail. Black branches and leaves in post-fired black wash on reserve. Light blue enamel line at top of foot, and white edge at base and mouth. Interior and recessed base glaze white. One corner of lip broken and mended with large piece missing. Shoulder corners chipped several places. Many pits and flaws in surface. Height 44.5 cm., maximum width 18.5 cm,.

Hearst Museum object titled Vase, accession number 9-13399, described as Vase, porcelain, blue and white. Tall, baluster shaped one of a pair. Bulbous ovoid body on narrow flared out base; long narrow neck, and wide flared out mouth. Rim with short design in flange. Short cylinder foot under base (for wood stand?). Large underglaze design covering most of body depicting pair of peacocks standing on rocks, pair of ducks swimming amid lotus, pair of egrets, large peony flowers, pair of sparrows, and pair of swallows on tree branch; all in various tones of dark blue executed in linear brush work on wash and white ground. Cloud pattern band around mouth rim. 2 fine lines around base. Empty double circle on base. Many pinholes and iron spots in surface. Interior glaze chip in base. Design a mirror image of 9-13400. Height 46.5 cm., max diameter 17.5 cm.
