Vase, stoneware, with modeled relief decoration. Short, globular body with high shoulder, with very long cylindrical neck; rim flange; recessed base. Sculptured black salamander, sur_ [illegible] rounds neck. Crackled cream glaze on neck; mottled blue on body. Molded relief geometric bands: narrow key-fret cloud pattern on outer side of flange; swastika-fret, red-brown and black curlwork on shoulder; black scalloped 'mountain' patter at base. Pressed seal mark on base. Glaze extends partially into neck. Many small chips in surface. H. 24.3 cm; 14.5cm. Porcelaineous stoneware, wheel thrown. Sculptured and molded relief decoration. Crackled cream and blue glaze. Round stoneware vase with long neck. Body of vase is blue with raised molded detail in black at base and shoulder. Beige neck surrounded by bas relief black lizard. Fret band at lip. Red-brown fretwork band on shoulder. Glaze crackled. Not finely made. Good condition. Black signature seal on bottom. January 1969 condition good.
