She wears an orange shirt and a full-length black apron. The back is printed with inscription given below.  Inscription: “Industry should learn from Daqing” (工业学大庆 gongye xue Daqing). Foot: pictorial seal with seagull over blue mountain and sea. “Manufactured in Tangshan” (唐山制造 Tangshan zhizao) is displayed against a motif hinting at the crenelated Great Wall.

The female deity wears lavish costume and seems to have descended from heaven. The Herd Boy wears a scholar’s robe and is accompanied by an ox. Above the image are four characters reading from left to right: “Herd boy and weaving maiden” (牛郎織女 Niu Lang Zhi Nü). On the reverse, a green decal of birds and clouds. Lid is decorated with two green decals of birds. Knob is crisscrossed with blue lines. Fired on three spurs. No kiln mark.

Inscription: Decal of couplet in regular script: “Green clothing just coming out, spring in Jiangnan/ light sail on a distant shore, a journey of ten-thousand li” (綠衣初发江南春   遠浦轻帆万里程 lü yi chufa Jiangnan chun, yuan pu qingfan  wanli cheng); lid: “Sampling fragrant tea” (品味香茗 pinwei  xiangming); on foot: “Jingdezhen, China MADE IN CHINA” (中国景德鎮 Zhongguo Jingdezhen MADE IN CHINA)
