Description:
The exterior is hand-painted decal with a pavilion and pine trees near a river with travelers on a ferry boat. The reverse side has a poem. A band of scrolling flowers surrounds the rim and a red bowstring is at the foot. The lid features four characters above a patterned band; the knob is topped with red flower motif. Inscription: Decal of couplet in regular script: “Green clothing just coming out, spring in Jiangnan/ light sail on a distant shore, a journey of ten-thousand li” (綠衣初发江南春 遠浦轻帆万里程 lü yi chufa Jiangnan chun, yuan pu qingfan wanli cheng); lid: “Sampling fragrant tea” (品味香茗 pinwei xiangming); on foot: “Jingdezhen, China MADE IN CHINA” (中国景德鎮 Zhongguo Jingdezhen MADE IN CHINA)
