Description:
The body decorated with a decal of the Yangtze Bridge at Nanjing, which was dedicated 1 October 1968; the reverse side inscribed with a quote from Mao Zedong’s often-read essay: Commemorating Norman Bethune. The lid is inscribed in formal calligraphy. Inscription: Lid: “Long live the great thought of Mao Zedong!” (偉大的毛澤東思想萬歲 weida de Mao Zedong sixiang wansui!); kiln mark on foot combines English and Chinese: “CHINA Jingdezhen, China” (CHINA 中国景德鎮 Zhongguo Jingdezhen)
