The rim has a larger diameter coil than the rest of the basket. The weft fag ends are bound under; the weft moving ends are concealed. About 50% of the wefts are split on the interior, less than 10% are split on the exterior. The wefts are non-interlocking. The basket has an exterior workface. It has a rightward work direction and a down to the right slant of weft twist.
Hearst Museum object titled Storage basket, accession number 1-11996, described as Large old hemispherical coiled basket. Tag "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled basket bowl. The coil foundation is splints. The background wefts are peeled redbud, and the weft designs are in unpeeled redbud. The design is four horizontal bands, which have occasional dips that mirror the bands above and below. The rim is plain wrapped in unpeeled redbud. The coil ending is backstitched for two inches, and has a blunt end. The weft fag ends are sometimes clipped, sometimes tucked. The weft moving ends are primarily concealed. The workface has a few split stitches; the back face has about 50% split stitches. The basket has an exterior workface, with a rightward work direction, and a down to the right slant of weft twist.

Per Ralph Shanks: Broad shallow coiled bowl, in the shape of parching basket. There is food debris present. The basket has a twined start. The coil foundation includes peeled shoot rods and splints. The weft designs are in unpeeled redbud and the design background is in peeled redbud. The design includes one plain horizontal band at the base followed by two horizontal bands of diamond/ spinning top shaped designs that connect between the bands. There are random rectangles visible on the exterior. The rim is plain wrapped. The design continues to the rim. The rim coil ending has three stitches missing. The weft fag ends are concealed or clipped; the weft moving ends are concealed and some are bound under. About 50% of the wefts are split on the interior, less than 10% are split on the exterior. The wefts are non-interlocking. The basket has an exterior workface. It has a rightward work direction and a down to the right slant of weft twist.
Hearst Museum object titled Storage basket, accession number 1-11962, described as Large globose coiled basket. Tag: "Yuki". Second tag "1125". Per Ralph Shanks: Globose coiled basket bowl, probably made for storage, with no residue. Tight spiral coil start. The coil foundation is rods of peeled shoots, with some splints. The wefts are peeled redbud with unpeeled redbud designs. The design includes three diagonal series of connected steps. There are random rectangles. The rim is plain wrapped and the coil ending has exposed rods. The weft fag ends are clipped, concealed or bound under. The weft moving ends are bound under. The exterior workface has about 15% split stiches. The interior back-face of the basket has about 50% split stiches. The basket has an exterior workface with a rightward direction and a down to the right slant of weft twist.
Hearst Museum object titled Storage basket, accession number 1-12026, described as Spherical coiled basket. Tag: "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled globular basket bowl, probably made for storage.
