Storage basket, coiled; zigzag-like design in redbud; foundation of peeled shoots, whole and split, sewing strands of split redbud shoots (pattern) and maple shoots. Tag: "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled storage basket. The basket does not show signs of wear or residue. The basket has a twined starting knot. The coil foundation is rod and splint peeled shoots. The wefts are peeled redbud background with designs in unpeeled redbud. The designs are four vertical zigzags starting at the edge of the base extending to the rim. The rim is plain wrapped, with a blunt coil ending with at least six diagonal backstitches. There are rim ticks on some of the rim. There are random rectangles. The weft fag ends are clipped and the weft moving ends are concealed. The wefts are split about 20% of the time on exterior, on the interior the majority of the wefts are split. The basket has an exterior work face, a rightward work direction, and a down to the right slant of weft twist.
