Coiled basket of truncated cone form. Design in triangles vertically arranged. Tag "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Broad coiled bowl, in the shape of cooking basket. There is food debris and some burns on the interior. The basket has a twined start. The coil foundation includes redbud rods and splints. The weft designs are in unpeeled redbud and the design background is in peeled redbud. The design includes four vertical bands of four stacked triangles, pointing to the rim of the basket. At the rim and at the base there is another band of triangles pointing towards each other. There is a small random rectangle. The rim is plain wrapped. The primary design continues to the rim. The rim coil ending is very slightly tapered, with about three back stitches. The rim has a larger diameter coil than the rest of the basket. The weft fag ends are bound under; the weft moving ends are concealed. About 50% of the wefts are split on the interior, less than 10% are split on the exterior. The wefts are non-interlocking. The basket has an exterior workface. It has a rightward work direction and a down to the right slant of weft twist.
