Hearst Museum object titled Gourd bowl (jícara), accession number 3-544, described as Jicara, gourd bowl, from half of tree-calabash ("Crescentia"), lacquered black outside, red inside, with thickened band of red lacquer 2.7 cm wide around rim outside.  Brush-painted decoration of plant, animal and geometric motifs in concentric bands: some bands of gold-leaf inside, silver (tarnished) outside; Mexican eagle/serpent emblem in bottom.  "Clemencia" on rim.  Cracked.  Some flaking lacquer.  Diam. 18 cm,  H 9 cm.
