The body is stenciled with an image of a beacon above wave patterns, both in pale brown, topped by a band of abstract sunflower patterns, with red pigments filling the space in between. A black inscription stretches across the beacon image: Listen to Chairman Mao’s words (听毛主席的话 Ting Mao Zhuxi de hua). A green bowstring decorates the rim.

All levels of leader and comrade must carefully pay attention, and absolutely must not be negligent” (政策和策略是党的生命, 各级领导同志务必充分注意,万万不可粗心大意” Zhengce he celue shi dang de shengming; geji lingdao tongzhi wubi chongfen zhuyi, wanwan buke cuxin tayi). The top of the body is decorated with the long-lived nandina plant and sprayed with orange pigment. A brown bowstring decorates the rim.
