Image Missing: Hearst Museum object titled Yarn painting, accession number 3-31594, described as HUICHOL YARN PAINTING: Bordered with a triple border of green white and hot pink, the ground of this painting is turquoise save at the very bottom where a strip of brown (ground) embellished with 4 “rocks” (navy blue, orange, white, turquoise edged with individual threads of red and black). Just above the brown band on proper left is a green band (pathway) edged with white on which a male figure (orange, purple, black, blue/grey, chartreuse) wearing a hat and carrying a pack is walking toward a house. The large house fills the center of the painting. Its walls and roof are represented by brown bands from which protrude a number of “branches” both inside and outside the house. A “ceiling” is indicated by a cross band of brown from which “branches” protrude downward. Standing in an arched doorway is a figure of a brown skinned woman wearing a pink, green, red and turquoise dress, and with a pink head-piece. The lower portion of the house ground if filled with sections of chartreuse, purple, white, green and a red and pink combination. The ground behind the standing woman is orange. Above the ceiling the ground is dark green. A small brown and black dog stands on the brown ground to the proper right of the house. Just above the dog a figure with brown head, orange body, and purple limbs topped by 3 black “feather” floats within the turquoise ground. Above him, in the upper proper right corner is a pyramidal structure of brown, bordered with green, with a white door. From the roof protrude 2 red, white and black devices with two loops attached to a single pole. To the proper left is an arrowhead shaped device of purple, pink white and black edged with single strand edges of pink, black and white. A short white shaft protrudes upward from the arrowhead.
