Hearst Museum object titled Coaster, accession number 1-235249, described as Twined. Central star like design surrounded by triangles. Made with black-dyed Woodwardia fern. Tag "Kl. R. Tr. att.". A swastika is on the back of the plaque, in ink. Per Ralph Shanks: Twined basket plaque. The basket has a crossed warp starting knot. The warp material is probably willow. The background weft is conifer root. The weft overlay is beargrass, black-dyed woodwardia, and red-dyed woodwardia. At the starting knot there is .25 inch of three strand twining, followed by plain twining until .25 inch below the rim where there is open work, with crossed warps. That is followed by 2 weft rows of plain twining. The warp sticks are trimmed and a rod was added to support the rim. The rim and the last two weft rows of twining are wrapped in beargrass. The main design is a flower/star design with three bands of triangles. The basket has a rightward work direction. The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist. The overlay is primarily one-sided. The basket is possibly Wiyot, based on the use of black-dyed woodwardia.

The rim is formed by at least one weft row of plain twining with one rod that was added to support the rim. The rim is wrapped in beargrass and maidenhair fern. The design includes three clusters of triangular elements. The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist and a rightward work direction. The overlay is primarily one-sided but there is one band of design on the back face, in red dyed woodwardia and beargrass. The basket is from Northwestern California, possibly Whilkut based the band on the back face.
