Hearst Museum object titled Towel, accession number 7-6633, described as Damask Towel:  White linen damask with diagonal rows of alternating formal design motifs.  Each end bordered with 4⅝ inch border of heavier yarn in white, red and yellow making formal design of lotus buds and flowers facing away from a central band of red flowers on white.  Damask.  White linen, white and red yarn.  Came to U.S. with 3992.  Faded, small holes.  One corner section (7 inches by 9 inches) torn out, mended.  38¼ inches by 20¾ inches.
Hearst Museum object titled Towel, accession number 7-6634, described as Damask Towel:  White linen damask with diagonally spaced motifs of bird and birdhouse on blossoming tree branch.  Each end finished with 3 inch border of heavier weight white and red yard in motif of cherry clusters and ½ inch border of stylized leaf on red.  Damask.  White linen, white and red yarn.  Brought from Ireland before 1860, to Calif, before 1906.  Worn, red faced.  Stains, 3 wear holes.  Selvedge edges.  21½ inches by 34 inches.
