Red pattern is Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Plain twined. Two winding double bands in dark red. Globose shape. Dirty. All overlay except rim and base. Stepped rectangles of redbud on white ground. 2-faced overlay. 3-strand twining: one row, second from the top; 0 - 4 cm from start; approximately 6.5 - 7 cm from start.

Red color is Maidenahir (Adiantum pedatum) dyed in Alder (Alnus rubra). Rim bound with Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Shows signs of use but in good condition.  2-faced overlay; white band with repeated red and black vertical zigzags; also thin white horizontal stripes and dotted stripes.  Lower third of basket is done in 3-strand twining. A small hoop is latticed- twined to the outside 7.5 cm from the bottom; a hoop is sewn on to form rim at the top, with split redbud shoots.

Red pattern is Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Similar (to 1-16549?); "mortar basket" added to card in pen. Braided work at edge. Grimy and worn from use. 2-faced overlay, red (redbud) and white. Zigzag designs in horizontal band; stripes above. 3-strand twining below band; the rest is plain twined. 2 hoops are lattice-twined to the outside at 6.5 - 7 cm above the bottom. The warp ends have been twined together to form rim.

White pattern is Beargrass (Xerophyllum tenax). Red pattern is Redbud bark (Cercis occidentalis). Basal hoops of Willow (Salix). Oblong, not of genuine Indian form.  Design 1 "flying geese.
