Necklace of clay, simulating claws, seeds & bones. Blue & white paint on face. On stand inscribed with “Joseph Brant, 1742-1807”.

Has a bleadched sealskin face with embroidered features and appliqued nose. Soft sealskin body, crimped seal soled mukluks. His seal skin hair is cut in traditional Siberian style, bald on top, with fringe around the head. Park is entirely hand sewn. It has seal fur at the ends of each arm and around the bottom of the parka. It is bleached white, sewn with sinew. Has a suede belt tied around waist. H = 34.5 cm.

Dressed in mukluks; red lowers, sealskin uppers, red flannel around knees. Sealskin trousers; hair outside, decorated with bandsof sealskin bleached white by frost, and sinew stitching. Fur around face. Red leather knife sheath attached to belt. H = 9.5”
