Plainwoven silk "brocaded" panel.  Woven patterning of lining shows four famous sites in Japan: Mt. Fuji, Amahashidate, possibly Matsushima (fishing area) and mountain.  1930's - 1950's.  104.1 cm L.

Hearst Museum object titled Kimono, accession number 9-17955, described as Kimono; pale blue silk chirmen wedding furisoda w/multicolor yuzen. designs of plum blossoms, bamboo & cranes, pine tree, water & turtle motifs near fuki.  Embellished with multicolored embroidery in silk floss & metal-wrapped thread.  Fully lined in red-orange plain weave silk.  Crepe weave and plainweave silk.  Paste resist dye technique.  Furisoda ="swinging sleeve kimono.  Chirimen = crepe weave.  Fuki = padded hem.  Yuzenn = paste resist dye technique. L: 160 cm.

Made from tan (kimono yardage length, usulally 40 feet); paste resist-dyed; fully lined w/ white plain woven silk, sleeves self-lined; handsewn, lining discolored & stained.  Plain woven silk; paste resist dyed.  152.7 cm L.
