Hearst Museum object titled Plate, accession number 9-12693, described as China. Platter, porcelain. Very shallow wide bowl shape, flat bottom, curved sides, flared rim and short foot. Heavily decorated with overglaze enamels: flowers and leaves in green, grey, and red with black outline over red diaper pattern of four lobed leaf within squares, on white ground. Band around inner wall with peony scroll work in same colors with two green and two yellow dragons on dotted circle pattern in iron red. Outer wall: red cloud pattern band near rim. Red and green prunus blossoms below, and plantain leaf comb pattern band near base. Double recessed foot. Platter had been badly broken and mended with staples, plaster and pewter in the chips. Enamel and lacquer very worn, and scratched on bottom. Height 6.2 centimeters, diameter 32.2 centimeters.

Half of sides cylindrical, tapering to flat bottom; other half flared out to rim in eight curved sides. Floral pattern on bottom including peonies, in pink, red, blue and dark and light green enamels and   gold and orange lacquer. Narrow 'fluer de lis' like band bottom. Chrysanthemum and other floral scrollwork on four sides near rim in same emanels. Altrenating lozenge and scrollwork band around upper rim. Brown on edge. Underside white. Recessed foot glazed. Badly broken, and mended. Many scratches and stains in surface.

Dark blue wash designs, outlined with white slip relief, on blue tinged celadon: round Shou seal mark (longevity) in center with scroll medallion; surrounded by five stylized bats, and eight ling-chih fungus (?) marks on flange. Blue underglaze six character seal mark on recessed foot of Ch'ien Lung reign (1736-1795) of Ch'ing dynasty. Body is very lumpy, surface very scratched. Height 5.3 centimeters, max diameter 28.5 centimeters.
