China. Platter-bowl, porcelain, with famille rose enamel decoration. Wide, octagonal shape with notched corners in rim. Half of sides cylindrical, tapering to flat bottom; other half flared out to rim in eight curved sides. Floral pattern on bottom including peonies, in pink, red, blue and dark and light green enamels and gold and orange lacquer. Narrow 'fluer de lis' like band bottom. Chrysanthemum and other floral scrollwork on four sides near rim in same emanels. Altrenating lozenge and scrollwork band around upper rim. Brown on edge. Underside white. Recessed foot glazed. Badly broken, and mended. Many scratches and stains in surface.
