Warp is Willow (Salix), weft is Alder root (Alnus) and Hazel (Corylus cornuta californica). Black color is mud-dyed. Mostly plain twined.  Design very faint, is not overlay, pattern in dyed black.

Pattern is mud-dyed Brake fern (Pteris quilina). 3-rod coiling with interlocking stitches. Decoration: slightly oblique, irregular black bands. Design material is bracken fern root. Basket is very worn. It has been extensively repaired at base, but there are many breaks both near the base and at the rim.
