Description:
Cooking basket; coiled. Warp is possibly Willow (Salix), weft is Redbud (Cercis occidentalis). Pattern is mud-dyed Brake fern (Pteris quilina). 3-rod coiling with interlocking stitches. Decoration: slightly oblique, irregular black bands. Design material is bracken fern root. Basket is very worn. It has been extensively repaired at base, but there are many breaks both near the base and at the rim.
