Hearst Museum object titled Brush case, ink case and brush, accession number 9-12564a-c, described as The brush container (a) is a hollow brass tube with oval shaped base; tooled surface in textured pattern; dark ‘antiqued’ ground.  Hinged lid at one end.  Band of brass near end holds loop for leather strap which is attached to the ink pot.  Brush (c) is of bamboo and white hair.  Appears unused and modern.  The ink pot (b) is brass with matching decoration, and flat oval shape.  Wide hinged lid on top with a stamped flower design.  Interior is encrusted with ink and has brass grinding platform.

Loop through lid and on tube with navy blue cord through each.  Cord hole on other side with grey string holding the ink case.  A few lightly engraved scrolls on tube.  The ink case (b) is of two domed halves hinged, with cord loops on each half; bronze.
