Hearst Museum object titled Jar with lid, accession number 9-12575a,b, described as Cloisonne jar (a) with lid (b): The jar, identical to 9-12574, is of mei-p'ing shape: high, wide shoulder, narrow base, and very short, narrow mouth.  Lid is dome-shaped with a copper knob on top.  Design on jar depicts flying white cranes amid scroll-like clouds on a red-orange ground with buff sprinkles.  Short scalloped ban at base with black, green and yellow design.  Wide overlapping scalloped band on shoulder with lacy fringe.  Dark flat brown outline with yellow polka-dots and alternating designs within of black and green, and buff and red.  Small scroll work hand on rim of mouth.  Wide band on lid (b) is nearly identical to that on shoulder of jar.  Slight traces of gilt on copper wires.  Interior of both lid and jar has thick layer of celadon-green colored enamel. Height (a) 20.5 cm max. Width 13.5 cm.  Height (b) 6.5 cm. Width 7.5 cm.
