Hearst Museum object titled Kimono, accession number 9-17709, described as Kimono:  pale grey blue patterned silk printed w/ bamboo, pine & plum blossoms in fake shibori; handpainted wave motifs at hem plus stems & leaves.  Some flowers embroidered w/ orange, teal, pink & green silk floss; major motifs of bamboo, turtles & cranes done in gold metallic paper wrapped silk thread.  Orange silk lining, long furisode sleeves, padded hem.  163.5 cm L.  Acc. to Mary Hayes this is a copy of an 18th century furisode (kimono for unmarried woman); gold = bamboo trees; cranes, plum blossoms, pine; tortoises at bottom.
Hearst Museum object titled Obi, accession number 9-17700, described as Obi (partial), plain weave orange silk w/ large weft-brocade multicolor butterfly motif; background woven motif quatrefoil floral in diamond shapes & curvilinear vertical stripes, worked in threads made of silver pressed on paper.  Soiled, metallic threads worn on front and breaking in reverse, due to long floats.  Lovely example, early 19th century (fide Mary Hayes).  Tied in intricate fashion; used as a kimono sash.  152.3 cm L by 34.6 cm W.

Faded, soiled; hand-stitched to a gold silk lining.  43.3 cm L.
Hearst Museum object titled Stole, accession number 9-17699, described as Stole:  beige silk inlaid weft brocade w/ phoenix & floral forms in blue & green; flat gold thread forms background; 2 applied brocade rectangles at each end for wear points, 3 strand white silk braid applied, divides surface into 4 panels; faded blue grey silk lining; very worn, except for areas near shiten, lining detached in places, soiled, very fragile condition.  FRAGILE: DO NOT HANDLE WITHOUT CURATORIAL PERMISSION.
Hearst Museum object titled Stole, accession number 9-17706, described as Stole:  green twill-woven silk w/ weft brocade or flowers in peach, rust & white plus silver color metallic tape thread outlining forms.  Four panels sewn together w/ pattern matching.  Faded, soiled, torn at one end.  Machine stitched to plainwoven green silk lining which may have been applied later.  Normal brocade squares at wear point on each end have been removed.  302. cm by 1331 cm.

Four panels sewn together, internal patterns made to match; 2 applied brocade rectangles on wear points at each end; paper inner lining & gold silk damask lining.  Very worn, silk shattered in several places.  31.4 cm by 144 cm.

Red ground w/ green, blue, white & pink pattern repeats every 4 motifs, color repeats every 5 motifs.  Partially lined w/ cotton plain weave.  Soiled; wear points & foxing.  109 cm L.
