Plain twining continues to the rim, which is trimmed.  The main design is undulating stacked triangles, with six T shapes interspersed throughout.  The workface is on the exterior.  The overlay is single sided, on the exterior.  The basket has a rightward work direction, with up to the right slant of weft twist.  The basket is from Northwest California.

Per Ralph Shanks:  Twined basket tray, probably made for sale, with non-traditional designs.  The basket has a crossed warp starting knot.  The warp material is probably hazel willow. The background weft is conifer root.  The weft overlay is beargrass, maidenhair fern, and red-dyed woodwardia fern.  At the starting knot there is 1 inch of three strand twining, followed by 1.5 inches of plain twining until .5 inch below the rim, where there is one weft row of three strand twining, after which plain twining continues to the rim.  At the base is a five sided star/flower.  The main design is a horizontal band four eight sided stars.  At the rim there is a horizontal band triangles, with a horizontal band of six pairs of polygons above that.  All of the designs are alternating maiden hair fern and woodwardia with a beargrass background.  The basket has an interior workface with a rightward work direction. The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist.  The overlay is primarily on the inside.  The rim is trimmed.  The basket is from Northwestern California.  There is twine tied at the bottom exterior.
