Hearst Museum object titled Almanacs, accession number 9-21346a-i, described as Almanacs for 1941, 1943, 1944, 1946, and 1948. Contain astrological advice for farming, business, social life, and a comparative western-traditional Chinese calendar.  24 x 15 cm.
Hearst Museum object titled Banner, accession number 9-21433, described as Banner with Spring inscriptions for kitchen shrine. 6.9 x 8.2 cm with horizontal strips: 12.6 x 4 cm; side strips: 4 x 22.7 cm. (Mounted in USA.) *Translation: Top rectangle: “SPIRIT” Cross strip: "Lord of the whole household" Side strips (should be reversed): "When you ascend into heaven, tell good things! When you return to your shrine, bring down good luck!
Hearst Museum object titled Banner, accession number 9-21371, described as Banner with inscriptions for kitchen-god shrine. 6.7 x 24 cm.  Mounted in USA. *Translation: ”When you ascend to heaven, report good things! Coming down to this world, guarantee peace and security.” Top character to be cut off and pasted on top of shrine. Lower part to be divided vertically and pasted on side posts of shrine.
Hearst Museum object titled Bridal crown, accession number 9-21330, described as Manchu bridal crown. “dien dse”; “dien-shang fei-cui”, “crown covered with kingfisher feathers”.  All ornaments backed with the character for “Joy” in pink plush. Some plaques in braided gold wires “cuan si”.  The whole on a braided body “tai dse” of wire wound with black satin. (See donor’s accession notes for her drawing of crown.) Fide: Ilse M. Fang, 8/28/2001: First, a wire band with black satin for the network would be made. This has cloud, plants, acanthus leaf images. Crown adorned with metal and kingfisher frame; inside each frame have ornament, petals, semi-precious stone like amethyst or river pearls - metal stamens - lotus pod images.  “Phoenix zone” in front, for women. The bangles would cover the eyes. Butterfly wings with jade. Double happiness symbols for wedding. Tassels, etc., are all prescribed. Blue kingfisher feathers are glued onto metal background.
Hearst Museum object titled Compass - sun dial, accession number 9-21280, described as Compass - sun dial.  Wood. Folding sun dial to be raised by notches for each of the twelve parts of the year. 5.5 cm x 11.5 cm x 1.7 cm H.
Hearst Museum object titled Coral piece, accession number 9-21322, described as Coral piece. Piece of broken-off coral from an ornament. 2.2 cm long. Fide: Ilse M. Fang, 8/28/2001: Coral in China comes from Tibet, because that was a sea bed.
Hearst Museum object titled Leather boxes, accession number 9-21369a-c, described as Pair of scarlet lacquered leather boxes, lockable.  One box in two pieces.
Hearst Museum object titled Needle case, accession number 9-21424a-c, described as Ivory needle case with silver(?) lid. Decoration in relief: A scholar and his acolyte arrive by boat at the foot of a mountain to climb it. Halfway up to the temple at the summit, the scholar rests and fans himself. In their ascent, the pilgrims pass through forests of bamboo, evergreens and deciduous trees. The case hangs by the crimson cord-loop from the button of the Manchu tunic. After a knot and an amber bead it enters the case through the silver lid. After it exits the case, its two ends run through a coral bead and are knotted once more, before they hang loose. Overall length of cord: 29 cm; of ivory case: 8.7 cm, case 1.5 cm diameter. Sewing needles to be stuck into cotton inside tube. a) box bottom, b) box top, c) needle case.

Two numbers of the Peking Capital Gazette dated Kuang-hsu 32 (1906), tenth month, 4th and 7th day, respectively. Tissue paper with yellow front cover. Tied with two paper thongs. Upper left corner: Title: Capital Gazette.  Bottom center: Ch’u-lou Publishing House. Bottom right: Date: 4th day of the 10th month; 7th day of the 10th month.  21.7 x 11.5 cm.  a) One intact issue, tied with paper thongs. b) Second issue, cover. c) Second issue, six pages (ie, six sheets of paper) with one partial paper tie connecting them. d-f) Double pages of second issue, no longer attached.
