CANDLE STICK: Ceramic candlestick formed from a half globe, to which a hollow tube for mounting a candle is attached at top. Attached at the base, on one side, are a woman in a purple gown, blue cloak and white head cover holding a swaddled infant; a bearded man wearing a yellow ochre robe, yellow cloak and holding a bottle and shepherds crook; and a grey donkey with and a yellow saddle. The globular base is painted green, grey, yellow and red. A white stream flowing down from the candle stick to the edge of the base, and highlighted with silver glitter, between the two standing figures. Three green trees flank the candleholder at top. Holder is painted with red stripes. Appears to represent the flight into Egypt by the Christian holy family. “Mexico” stamped on underside.
