Coiled, small, brown design. Per Ralph Shanks: Globular coiled basket bowl. Single rod foundation. Background wefts are sedge root and the design wefts are redbud. The design at the base is a flower/star pattern. At the rim there is a horizontal band of downward pointing triangles. The weft fag ends are clipped. The basket has an exterior workface with a leftward work direction. It has a plain wrapped rim with a tapered coil ending. Based on the technical features, such as the clipped fag ends, makes this basket likely to be Sierra Miwok.
