Exhibit Label - 2019 - Krisa Fredrickson Incense Pop-Up Incense burner (chan lak) likely used to burn copal, an aromatic tree resin. Vessels like these often depict the face of a deity to whom an offering is being made. This example comes from the Lacandon, one of the Mayan peoples who live in the jungles of Chiapas, Mexico.
