Materials, techniques: Made from wood of local tree; metal blade is made by blacksmith in Mogodishu, Somalia Context of use: Used for hunting elephants or killing snakes made and used by men. One man alone can kill an elephant- aim for stomach. It may take 1-3 hrs. for animal to die if properly hit Description: Spear- long wood handle with flat, pointed metal blad and narrow metal piece at other end. H. 154 cm. x 3.5 cm (w).
