- Description:
- Gadrooned bucchero kyathos. Description from Matteucig (1951): Kyathos; height: 9.7 cm; height to top of handle: 18 cm; diameter: 12.3 cm (see Matteucig's plate XXI, 7). Heavy bucchero. Offset convex rim; deep, rounded, godrooned sides, on low hollow stem with spreading foot; fillet on top of stem; high strap handle. On top of handle, a two-faced figure; on the head of the figure, a pointed knob in raised fillet; additional bar joining handle to rim; inside rim, just below handle, a human face in relief, with incised details. About one-quarter of the vase is restored in gray mortar.
