Description:
4 X 5" Black and white negative of the supplies for the Hoefler Expedition. Hoefler's original description: "Island of Ceylon. A Large party such as the Hoefler-Asiatic Expedition, carries of necessity, tremendous amounts of baggage, and the handling of this luggage and equipment through the customs and about in the countries visited, is one of the major problems of the Expedition. Scene shows the baggage being delivered at the pier in Colombo for loading on the steamship which was to take the party to China.
