Description:
4" x 5" Negative. Lion turns to look at the photographer (Hoefler) who was supposed to be hidden, but the lion noticed him. Hoefler's original description: "Bachelor of the donga. This male has discovered the hidden photographer and is taking a good look to see what he is up to. At times like this, the said photographer (Hoefler) wished that there was something between him and the lions besides a few thorn branches.
