Coiled, plate shape. Per Ralph Shanks: Low sided coiled basketry bowl. Deergrass bundle foundation with possible juncus rods included in the bundle. Wefts are sumac, juncus, and black dyed juncus. The design of a six sided star is at the bottom of the basket and is formed by sumac and outlined by black dyed juncus. Within the star there are two coils of natural juncus and one coil of black dyed juncus. Along the sides of the basket are six diamonds in natural juncus outlined by black dyed juncus. Additionally there are smaller diamonds on the interior of the larger diamonds. Workface is on the interior, with a rightward work direction. Bound under weft fag ends. The basket has a plain wrapped rim with a tapered herringbone coil ending.
