Coiled, plate shape. Tag "68 insurance list Mission S California" Per Ralph Shanks: Low sided coiled basketry bowl. Deergrass bundle foundation. Wefts are sumac background and black dyed juncus designs, with orange juncus in the top two coils. The designs are of mixed floral and geometric black dyed juncus. Workface is on the interior, with a rightward work direction. Bound under weft fag ends. The basket has a plain wrapped rim with a tapered coil ending which begins as a herringbone stitch turning into a plain wrapped stitch.
