- Object Name: Rice bowl Materials: Glazed porcelain Diameter at rim: 11.5 cm Date: 1969 or later Country: People’s Republic of China Description: The exterior features a band of stamped on repeating motifs showing a large radiating sun behind buildings that represent the farm where Mao Zedong was raised. The inscription reads: The Red Sun rises from Shaoshan (韶山升起红太阳 Shaoshan shengqi hongtaiyang); sunflower blossom in green printed beneath each motif; the interior embossed with a character 孟 meng. Inscription: Circular red kiln mark on foot: “Zi River porcelain factory of Hunan 1969” (湖南资江瓷厂 Hunan zijiang cichang 1969) Place of Origin: Yiyang, Hunan Province Condition: Very good with minor wear Acquisition Data: Panjiayuan Price: 60-70 RMB.
