According to Karen Hendricks (2018-04-11), "Several historians here in Humboldt County have discussed this photo and have concluded that this picture could not be of Jack Woodman. He was in his 90’s when he died in 1931 so he couldn’t possibly be that young of a man." Further from Karen Hendricks (2018-04-15), "local historians have determined that these photos are of the Tom family of Orleans, California
