MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with cotton threads, 2 singles in red, and blue. Warps twisted at one end. Blue wefts at one end where weaver may have run out of red. Green cotton and blue silk floss used together in suppl. weft brocading. Subtle Suppl. weft brocading by passing over one warp creating a 2-D effect. CONTEXT OF USE: Arriola de Geng located this textile in Quetzaltenango because of motifs; some of the supp. weft yarns are hilo de carizo or spool yarn; some kinds imported from the US.
