Tzute: Backstrap-loomed, warp-faced plain weave. Two-faced suppl. weft brocading. Two pieces joined by a randa. Bottom selvedges loom-finished, other selvedge warps cut and hemmed. Two silk floss tassels 11" long.

MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with cotton thread, predominantly red, also blue. Suppl. weft of wool threads. CONTEXT OF USE: Weaver's mark hand-stitched next to randa. Woolen motifs have shrunk, making puckers in the cloth. Iconography of double-headed eagles, squares and four legged animals. CONSERVATION: Corners torn; two tassels missing; otherwise good.
