Paper decorations for New Year’s. Set of two dozen red paper flags with cutout character ts’ai (talent or wealth). Lower half: Chinese character in a pumpkin shape. Upper half: cracked ice with plum blossoms (?). Each flag to be attached to a piece of furniture and at doors and windows for the New Year. (Fide: Ilse M. Fang, 8/28/2001: The flags were pasted onto furniture.) Held together by a paper thong. Gold-leaf coin with four beads around it in center. 6.8 cm x 10.5 cm.
