Platter, porcelain with underglaze and overglaze enamel decoration. "Imari" ware. Square, flat bottom, flared out sides and scalloped edge. Hoo bird in gold lacquer on right red scroll pattern ground faces orange-red dragon on same ground of gold. Blue underglaze band with floral pattern. Four panels on sides with depictions of grass and water framed by floral and cross-hatched borders in various enamel colors. Red and gold diamond "textile" pattern ground between panels. Gold on rim. Blue underglaze scrollwork on underside and comb tooth band around foot. Label on base marked "made in occupied Japan". H. 4.2 cm. 27 x 27 cm.
