- Comment:
- ...he found one skeleton, that of an adult at a depth of 3 ft. lying on back, east and west, head to west. Under the head and close together were four leaf shaped implements or knives [1-222304-306] (one broken) [307], two spear points (one with point missing) [308-309], and an arrow point [310]. Two large irregular stones [one is 311] were directly under the feet. By right side near elbow was a pestle [312]. By neck and across upper part of breast as if in rows were 38 abalone shell ornaments [314-333], 18 being more or less imperfect or decayed. All of these ornaments were triangular in shape, a all with one perforation in the wider end. One clay bead [313] was near pestle at right side of body. Lying in irregular positions, some together, some separate, as if thrown in promiscuously were 31 fish hook shaped bone objects [334-363]. These were scattered from the neck to the knees, over the breast and along the arms and legs. Of the 31, eighteen were in a good state of preservation, six were broken, and seven were fragments.
