4" x 5" Negative. Mombasa. Men lift water from well. Hoefler's original description: "Island of Mombasa. One of the main wells in the native quarters of Mombasa. At this well, men toil throughout the day lifting water in this crude manner from a great depth. There is no pipe system on the island and the water must be carried from wells to the consumers.
