From the Shosoin; Note: fragment examined Feb. 1984 by Nobuko Kajitani conservator, MMA: fiber: silk; structure: palinweave (embroidered); from Horyu-Ji (Temple) not Sho so-in (so indicated on slide) therefore 7th century, not 8 - 9th century. 2¼ inches by 3¼ inches including mount.
