Description:
Cast of Semidiptych with the inscription: NICOMACHO(RV)M in a quadrangular tablet at the top. Below draped woman or goddess (Daneter) lights one torch by another near a flaming altar under a pine tree. From an ivory original (broken). This is the earliest of 1297/1300, and is pagan. At left, remnant of ornate metal fastenings. One of six nearly globular peg heads remains in the palmetted frame.
