Weaver uncertain. Acquired from Bertina Lopez Cumez, date & location uncertain. Date is between 2000 and 2009. 2 paper tags at back of faja: (removed) —“ACW #14” —“Wide red faja. SCP, Guatemala. From Bertina.” Wide red faja. Each end has section of unwoven warps, followed by stabilizing wefts and warp loops. Plain weave. Red warp with symmetrically placed black warp stripes. Spaced bands of multicoloredgeometric, bird, plant motifs in singlefaced supplementary weft. Patterning covers most of both ends of faja, with unpatterned area in the middle of the faja.
