Description:
Skirt; 77 cm l, circum at hem 280 cm; bright pink closely-woven cloth sewn to undyed, ff-white twill band 18 cm and gathered into 2.5 cm waistband; 4 rows of machine stitching on 81 cm waistband. Ties attached to waistband; body of skirt decorated with two sets of horizontal stitched folds (two folds to each set.) Hem has 18 cm decorative panel; hand embroidered flowers, birds, and heart shapes. Tiny shreds of paper remain attached to embroidery stitches, suggesting use of paper pattern. Sawtooth hem faced with pink cotton cloth and decorative stitching at hem prevents fraying.
