(a) tea pot and (b) lid; stubbed egg shape with a modeled rope handle which is attached just below the neck, curves up and over down to the lower third of the body where two rope tassels hang down from either side. the neck is only the width of the modeled rope made to look tied with a bunched appearance below. the mouth opens outward, continuing the bunched look with slight waves, the edge of the mouth is trimmed in gold. the spout is the standard style, attached close to the mid-section, angling upwards narrowing to make the mouth of the spout slightly higher than the mouth of the pot. the shield is in a classic shape with a light blue background, there are three two towered castles (two on the top, one centered on the bottom); along the top on all three castles are flames. beneath the shield is a yellow scrolling ribbon with Gaelic writing "At-CuAt: OuGumme", below in fine print "Dublin". made by W.H. Goss, 1858-1887 with a stamp imprint of "W.H. Goss".
