Stamp: rectangular wood stamp used in printing batik fabric; designs include butterflies (?), hash marks, and other geometrical shapes; stamp is handled and shows evidence of ink; handle has two nails in it probably to keep it from cracking off. Stamp used to make batik fabrics inexpensively. Some stamps used copper strips set into block to make designs; this one shows no evidence of having been used with copper. Stamp 16 cm. at longest point. 13.3 cm. at widest point.
