A black-and-white photographic print from negative 15-30356, a palace in Bikaner State, Rajputana, India. Written on the back in blue pencil: "(c) Paul Hoefler." A paper caption is attached and reads: "WATCH YOUR CREDIT LINE: PHOTO COPYRIGHTED BY PAUL L. HOEFLER. BK 3. LALLGARH PALACE, BIKANER STATE, RAJPUTANA INDIA. A general view of the tremendous mass of Lallgarh Palace at Bikaner. The architecture is pure Indo-Saracenic and most inspiring in its beauty. The building was commenced in 1897 and first occupied in 1901. Set like a rare jewel in the desert of Marwar, it fulfills all the romantic dreams of those lucky enough to be guests of Lieutenant General His Highness The Maharajah.
